WELCOME TO NORTON RADSTOCK TOWN COUNCIL

Welcome to our two towns, Midsomer Norton and Radstock.  In case you were wondering there is not a third town - sometimes the towns are jointly referred to as 'Norton Radstock'.

Following a history stretching back to the Iron Age, Midsomer Norton and Radstock have, for centuries, been traditional market towns situated within a very attractive rural area between Bath and the Mendip Hills.

Both towns provide free central car parking.  The towns boast a variety of different and interesting shops to provide for a pleasurable shopping experience.  Many of them are independent specialists in their field offering good old-fashioned service at very competitive prices and providing something a little different - individuality, choice and good bargains.

A variety of bus services connect the two towns with Bath, Bristol and surrounding towns and villages.  Close to both centres, there are many excellent infant, junior and secondary schools.

Midsomer Norton town centre is an enjoyable place to shop and spend some time.  There are fine historic buildings, the River Somer runs through the centre of the town, and Hollies Garden offers a central green space for shoppers and others to meet, sit and watch the world go by.

Radstock is one of the best preserved former coal-mining towns in England - the basis of its conservation area status.  Local people and visitors alike are able to immerse themselves in the history of the area in the exemplary Radstock Museum.  On Waterloo Road, the Memorial Park provides a green space for informal relaxation by the brook.  Tom Huyton Park, with its extensive range of play equipment for a variety of ages, draws children from far and wide.  Running into the town are two routes for cyclists and walkers - the local Greenway and a section of the national cycle network, running from Bath through Radstock and onto Frome and the South Coast.
